3. I checked for the wires in the trunk (only visually, checking the black cable around the trunk), both right and left ones. I saw where they ended and check for the switches (right and left sides), no wire out of its place. I supposse that I will have to change both wires for new ones. I imagine that even if the black cover of the wires is not broken, they could be broken inside, no??? At first sight it seems to be impossible that the wires might be broken inside, but of course they can be.

Visual checking is absolutely not enough.

At least you should check the cable with your hands, mainly at that point where the cable bends most. There you should feel the broken wires...
But even if you don't, I encourage you to repair the cables on both sides anyway!
Your cables are aged enough that it is almost certain they're broken, so don't hesitate

BUT: Don't go to your friendly Audi dealer, there you'll only get the same non-satisfying quality again. Even worse: You'll have to pay a whole bunch of Euros...
