I have a problem with the verdeck of my Audi Cabrio 2.0, year 1995. I belong to "Audisport-Iberica" forum but there are no many cabrios and they cannot help me. The "verdeckkasten" (the plastic trunk that opens for the verdeck to go in) opens, but then the motor goes on sounding but does not finish to open at all. It seems to be blocked at that point. I am not sure about what the problem can be. I have thought about the "verdeckkastendeckelcylinder" but... no idea at the moment. I have tried to translate some of the messages you have in this forum but the translations are horrible and do not understand well. Hope you could help me with this matter. Thank you very much. I attach a picture of the car. Regards from Mojácar, Almería. RE: Verdeck Problem - Mech© - 10.02.2008 Hello and a warm welcome, at first you should lock the trunk manually and try again to open the roof. RE: Verdeck Problem - kawa116 - 10.02.2008 Hey, welcome to the BBOTW (best board of the world). I don´t really understand your name. Is it Mojácar, or is it the town you come from. Anyway. Belong to your problem. Maybe there´s not enough oil in your hydraulik-system. You can check it on the right hand site of you boot. For this you have to remove the cover of your boot. Then you will see the hydraulic pump. There will be a little white plastic reservoir with min to max. So you can check the fill level. The top have to be open for this. I hope i could help you, and whish a happy evening. Greatings Flo RE: Verdeck Problem - Bastel - 10.02.2008 Hi and welcome on this board here... Anyway you should check the wires in the trunk... Even if you can not read our crazy german language... these pictures should try to help you to find what I mean... Check this here: http://www.audicabrio.info/support/index.php?action=artikel&cat=17&id=16&artlang=de These wires on the left and on the right side tend to break caused by opening and closing the trunk... often generated because you have to put in big suitcases from crazy ladies... Please keep us updated... Best regards from sunny Germany, Bastian RE: Verdeck Problem - Ollfried - 10.02.2008 Moin! I agree. You should first try Mech's hint, this worked for me and other quite a long time. Next, you should exchange the Cables bastian described. These steps solve about 97.452% of all roof-problems. Ollfried RE: Verdeck Problem - Maveric - 10.02.2008 97.452% How do you calculated this? RE: Verdeck Problem - Ollfried - 10.02.2008 I might tell you, but then I had to kill you. RE: Verdeck Problem - avogadro - 10.02.2008 Hallo wieder und vielen dank für dein fast antworten. Erste, Mojacar ist der Statd wo Ich wohne. Es ist am Strand in Almeria Küste, sehr schönes. Thank you for the welcome, really. About closing the trunk manually and try to open the roof, I will try tomorrow. The point is that in the last two weeks it has been working by days, sometimes yes , sometimes no. Yesterday, I removed the cover of the boot to check the hydraulic motor, the oil level was between the maximum and minimum, well, a bit more going to the maximum. I tried to find the screw to open and refill in the tank but could not find it. I removed the top of the motor but couldn't even find it. Where is it exactly? (by the way, I forgot to swicht the lamp connector when I installed the cover back,) About the wires, good idea to check for them. I never thought about it (but when you wrote about the big suitcases.... ). Thank you very much. I will try tomorrow to do all of these. I will keep you informed and updated. Best regards. RE: Verdeck Problem - H;o)lli - 11.02.2008 Hola Avo avogadro schrieb:The point is that in the last two weeks it has been working by days, sometimes yes , sometimes no.This is an almost certain indication for broken wires mainly in the cable to the right of the trunk. Anyway, You should swap both of them, left & right, because they're of same age and sooner or later the other one will get you into trouble too... If you need further help to get the right wires/cable that will definitely be better than the original ones, let us know. Saludos y hasta próxima, Hlli RE: Verdeck Problem - avogadro - 11.02.2008 Hola a todos/as, today I have been checking some of the comments you all wrote yesterday: 1. I have tried to open the verdeck changing the position of the trunk lock, but I got no success (the verdeck was folded, the "verdeckkaster" went up a little bit but then did not lift at all, the motor kept on sounding. It closed very well. 2. I removed the cover of the trunk. I opened the top of the pump. I saw the screw to fill in with hydraulic oil and filled in the oil tank. I made a mistake because I put too much oil and now is a bit more than the maximun line. These are both the pictures of the pump and the oil tank level: http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/2262/phpdjigzzamhw6.jpg http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/301/phpwnhrhqamlz2.jpg After filling in with the oil, I drove the car a couple of kms and tried to open the "verdeckkasten". No success . I did it by hand and then tried again with the motor but... nothing. 3. I checked for the wires in the trunk (only visually, checking the black cable around the trunk), both right and left ones. I saw where they ended and check for the switches (right and left sides), no wire out of its place. I supposse that I will have to change both wires for new ones. I imagine that even if the black cover of the wires is not broken, they could be broken inside, no??? At first sight it seems to be impossible that the wires might be broken inside, but of course they can be. I have a question at this point : Should I change all the wires (I mean in lenght) or cut them at a point and join? Where should I cut by your experience? I am going to try to get some similar cables at a car store tomorrow afternoon, or is it better to directly go to Audi? I also found a couple of white wires with transparent and red ending disconnected in the left side of the trunk. I looked around to find the connectors in which they were supposed to be in, but I saw nothing. Do you know anything about them? Here is a picture of them: http://img511.imageshack.us/my.php?image=php2vzowjam1rk9.jpg Here you are other picture of the right side and the wires ending: http://img520.imageshack.us/my.php?image=phpjgm2khamyb5.jpg Well, I hope everything is ok very soon. I only can thank you all for the help you are giving me. Saludos para todos/as desde la playa (hoy mucho viento y nubes) y hasta mañana. |
