ABK motorChiptuning... Any hints?

Hallo Everybody, and sorry If I write in English but my writing abilities in German are close to nothing Da bin ich aber traurig!. I just came back from my first holyday with my newly bought 10 yr old Cabrio to Lake Balaton in Hungary, or Plattensee as many of you may know it (BTW, a lot of 80 and A4 cabrio over there, mainly from Austria and Germany, any of you were there in the last two weeks?). Everything's all right, but I feel the car is a bit lazy... Anybody ever tried or is using still any kind of chip tuning on an ABK motor (i.e. 2.0 L 115 PS)?!? (possibly even on a Limo/Avant 80 or 100)
If so what were/are the benefits and the downturns?
I know that many will suggest to switch to a V6, but here in Italy tax (and insurance above all) are not very friendly for a 2.6 or a 2.8 liter...

I regret so say, that there is no possibility to Chip Tune a ABK Engine.
As I own one myself the thought turned up once in a while. All searches returned with no (financially) resonable result.
May be you should go for a NG engine. This fine piece of engineering has not much more "Hubraum" (sorry don't know the word now) but is more agile.

They offer the same level of performance even if prices differ quite a bit... are they just good for the talk or are they worth a try? and how do (or should) they work?

P.S: "Hubraum" is "displacement" in English and "Cilindrata" in Italiano. I know the NG motor is really a fine piece of engineering (I heard one on a black cabrio last week and it sounds like a Stradivari Rolleyes ) but it's damn hard to find here in Italy, and always in cars with tons of kms (220000 upwards) and/or without klima Da bin ich aber traurig! Not an easy case here in sunny Italy Big Grin

have a look at "www.skn-tuning.de". You will find infos about "eco-tuning" and "chiptunig" for more power.
They are also in Switzerland and Austria.

Hi Speedal,

as mentioned above is there not really a possibility to tune up a ABK-engine, so forget this one.

If you are really interessted in more power by keeping your car, think about to switch on a 1,8 turbo engine, this one is built in several cars of Audi and VW group and I`ve seen there also somewere an exchange to this engines.
Your advantage is further the small volume but much more power and if you have the possibility to get somewere an accident car which deliveres all needed parts, it`s in good relation to the cost.
