In many cases the wire harness is the root cause of trouble with the roof; no matter whether it is a manual or an automatic roof.

To verify the condition of the harnesses you need to cut open the outer insulation of the harness to get access to the 7 to 8 cables inside (The quantity of cables depends on built year and left or right hand side).

If any of the cables is damaged, you should replace the whole harness or perform a repair of the broken harness section according to the instructions in our FAQ.
